Doug - World Record - Fastest Soft Desert
Celebrating My First World Record Holder: Doug’s Journey
Two years ago, Doug walked into my coaching program with a singular ambition: to finish a 70.3 triathlon. With dedication and hard work, we set to work, and after just four months, Doug not only completed the race but shattered his goal time by an impressive ten minutes!
Inspired by his success, we set our sights even higher: a world record attempt for the fastest ice cream cone to run a marathon. Doug trained relentlessly, pushing his limits, and the effort paid off—he beat the previous record by a staggering nine minutes!
But Doug's journey didn't stop there. He tackled the Ironman Kalmar and, upon crossing the finish line, casually declared, “It wasn’t that hard.” His confidence and resilience continue to amaze me.
Now in his off-season, Doug is savoring his achievements, but I have no doubt that he’ll soon be on the hunt for his next challenge. With his tenacity, the possibilities are endless.
Daisy Huxtable: The Kona Queen
Daisy Huxtable, earned her spot at the Ironman World Championships and embarked on an intense seven-week preparation journey. While the timeframe wasn’t ideal for a championship race, Daisy embraced the challenge wholeheartedly, completing every training session with determination.
Training in England presented its own hurdles, particularly when it came to acclimating to the heat, but we devised a solid race-day strategy. On race day, Daisy executed our plan flawlessly, finishing with impressive results that showcased her hard work and dedication.
Daisy has since joined our team in Kalmar, where she has continued to pursue her goals while expertly balancing a busy schedule. Now, she’s eager to reignite her Ironman passion and push herself to new heights. With her drive and talent, there’s no doubt she’ll go even faster in her next endeavor.
Ben Campbell: From Finisher to World Championship Qualifier
Ben Campbell approached me with a clear goal: to finish Ironman Bolton. With five months of dedicated coaching, we focused on building his confidence on the bike. The result? He not only finished but smashed his target by over an hour!
Buoyed by his success, Ben entered the 2022 London Marathon, where he soared to a remarkable finish in 2:57. Following the marathon, he took some time to relax, enjoying a delayed honeymoon and moving to a new home.
However, the real test lay ahead—Ironman Wales. He would later describe it as an “absolutely miserable day,” but his unwavering drive and determination saw him through to the finish line. Not only did he complete the race, but he also qualified for the Ironman World Championships!
Ben's journey exemplifies the power of perseverance and the incredible heights one can reach with commitment and hard work, all while having a bit of fun along the way.
